With the warmer days arriving ahead, it's the perfect time to start thinking about fun picnics and outdoor get-togethers with friends and family! And today, I'm excited to share some simple and delicious ideas for your upcoming plant-based gathering outdoors.

When it comes to outdoor eating, portability is key! Think bite-sized goodness and easy-to-handle snacks. Here are some of my favorite plant-based ideas:

Mylk Ma'am mini quiches: Whip up some mini quiches using our plant-based mylks as a creamy base. Pair them with fresh, clean veggies for a nutritious and delicious bite. They're perfect for warm or cold ambiance! To make these even more special, consider adding a sprinkle of nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor or some finely chopped local herbs like parsley or chives. You can also experiment with different vegetables such as roasted red peppers or sautéed mushrooms for a variety of tastes and textures. Baking them in individual muffin tins makes them incredibly portable and easy to serve.

Granola healthy bites: Our yummy Mylk Ma'am granolas will keep you energized with these power bites! Mix it with nut butter, dates, and seeds for a nourishing and easily digestible snack. For an extra layer of deliciousness, try rolling these bites in shredded coconut, finely chopped nuts, or even a dusting of cocoa powder. You can also add dried cranberries or chopped apricots for a chewy and fruity twist. These are perfect for a quick energy boost during your outdoor adventures.

Veggie skewers with our plant-based cheese: Thread chunks of peppers, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and zucchini onto skewers. Pack some cubes of our delicious plant-based cheese for a refreshing and flavorful addition. To make them even more exciting, consider marinating the vegetables for about 30 minutes in a light vinaigrette made with olive oil, lemon juice, and your favorite herbs like oregano or basil. This adds a new exotic flavor. You can also add small meatballs or marinated artichoke hearts to the skewers for a more substantial snack.

Hearty wraps with hummus and greens: Spread some creamy hummus on whole-wheat tortillas and fill them with fresh spinach, shredded carrots, avocado, and maybe some grilled tofu for a satisfying and healthy meal. A splash of natural lemon juice adds a new twist! To make these wraps even more exciting, consider adding some sprouts, thinly sliced bell peppers, pickled onions, or even a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds for added texture and flavor. A smear of our plant-based butter on the tortilla before adding the fillings can also enhance the taste and make it perfectly plant-based!

Pasta salad with a creamy Mylk Ma'am dressing: Toss cooked pasta with fresh vegetables like bell peppers, olives, and sun-dried tomatoes. For a creamy, non dairy dressing, blend our plain oat mylk or almond mylk with some herbs, garlic, and a touch of lemon juice. It’s healthy, refreshing, and gut healing! To make this salad a complete meal, consider adding some grilled chickpeas, cannellini beans, or marinated plant-based feta cheese. A sprinkle of fresh parsley or basil right before serving adds a new flavor.

Fruit Salad with a creamy Mylk Ma'am delight: Don't forget the natural sweetness of a fruit salad! It’s a fantastic source of hydration and essential vitamins, keeping your body feeling healthy and energized. For an extra touch of taste, pack a small container of our granolas to drizzle over the fruit just before serving, this adds a touch of sweetness and a wonderfully crunchy texture that makes this simple treat worth sharing! You can even consider adding a dollop of our plant-based coconut yogurt as an alternative or a swirl of our plant-based butter that has been slightly softened and sweetened with a touch of maple syrup. A sprinkle of fresh mint leaves can also add a refreshing touch.

Remember to pack your delicious plant-based creations in reusable containers to support sustainability and show care for our planet. And always remember, you can reuse our mylk bottles as an alternative to plastic bottles, and other creative ways as well! With a little planning, your plant-based picnic will be a healthy, yummy, and joyful experience for everyone!
